Gentle In-Home Rehab Care

Manual Modalities

Electrical Stimulation

Electrical stimulation (NMES and TENS) is a gentle, therapy-grade tool we sometimes add when a dog needs help with pain control or rebuilding weakened muscles. Small pads are placed on the skin over specific muscle groups, and low levels of electrical current are applied while your dog is comfortably positioned.

TENS focuses on easing discomfort by helping to interrupt pain signals, which can be especially helpful for arthritic joints or post-surgical soreness. NMES works a bit differently, encouraging the muscle to contract so we can maintain or rebuild strength and help prevent atrophy during periods of limited activity.

All settings are adjusted for your dog's size, condition, and comfort, and we remain right beside them throughout the session. Used alongside massage, stretching, and therapeutic exercise, electrical stimulation can make it easier for your dog to move, participate in rehab activities, and gradually return to more normal daily life.
